What does “independence” mean to you?

Yesterday was a rarity. Marty and I spent the entire day doing exactly what we wanted to do, when we wanted to do it. No obligations and no expectations. Simply living out of our intention to enjoy the day together, come what may.

I’m grateful to be living so luxuriously. To be able to have an entire day without labor or care. At no time did I feel threatened or unsafe. To live in the moment, making last minute decisions about where to go and what to do, that in another time, another place, perhaps, would have been certainly careless; probably dangerous. No desire was denied. Freshly picked, organic strawberries? Check. Dairy-free, gluten-free chocolate chips? Check. Movie ticket? Check. Our choice of seats? Check.

Life is good!
